Born in Montluçon, in central France in 1945, Tristan Rà, initially enrolled in medical school deciding to become a night nurse in order to attend drawing classes during the day.

Since 1970 Tristan Rà has devoted himself to painting as a full time artist living in Vallauris and then in Latin America. Once returned to France, Tristan Rà established himself in Var, punctuated with long stays in North Africa.

From 1981 to 1985, Tristan Rà again traveled the world visiting Moorea and The Marquesas Islands, Mali, Morocco, India, Turkey and Tunisia, where he lived in Sidi Bou Said. Tristan Rà is an explorer painter who has exhibited all over the world in Paris, London, Geneva, Brussels, New York, Singapore, Istanbul, Stuttgart, Seoul, Hong Kong and Tunis.

The works of Tristan Rà appear in fine art galleries and many private collections worldwide.
